How to Clean a Showerhead

How to Clean a Showerhead – How to clean limescale is one of the recurring questions in homes with hard water. Cleaning the shower head is much easier, cheaper, and more ecological than you think. The only thing you need is the following:

  • White vinegar.
  • A toothbrush (don’t go there to brush your teeth, of course).
  • A super-type container or a well-sealed bag.
  • Approximately 1 hour of your time.
  • Unscrew the shower head and disassemble its parts, careful not to damage them.
  • Soak them in 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water.
  • Let the pieces soak for 20 – 30 minutes.
  • Take them out and rub the parts with the toothbrush and a little care to release the lime and dirt that has accumulated over time and has now softened.
  • If the lime is very embedded, carry out the same operation but boil the water with vinegar. Instead of leaving the pieces for half an hour, you only leave them for 10 minutes… and that’s it.

IS YOUR ARTICHOKE FIXED? – How to Clean a Showerhead

Don’t worry. Fill a sturdy plastic bag with white vinegar and check that it has no holes. Dip the artichoke in it and fix it with a rubber band. Let the vinegar sit overnight, and remove the bag the following day. Scrub the remains with the brush.

ONCE CLEAN

Let the (hot) water flow through the shower head and check the results. And remember that maintenance is vital so that the lime does not become embedded. Perform this operation at least once a month and avoid surprises.

ALSO

Apart from vinegar, other foods are used to clean. You can add a tablespoon of baking soda to the vinegar-water mixture or squeeze lemon if there isn’t a heavy limescale buildup. In this case, rinse the artichoke with undiluted lemon juice and leave it to act for at least an hour. Then, rub with the toothbrush to remove the lime that clogs the holes.
